Concerns over promotion of cold drink
AS A READER of your newspaper, I was a bit confused regarding the POST one-year supply of Coca-Cola give-away.
I have in the past read about good and healthy eating habits in your newspaper, limiting the intake of sugar and salt in our meals.
The give-away is in total contrast to safe eating regarding obesity among children and diabetes in general.
POST also carried a separate insert regarding diabetes once, so this competition does not really make sense.
I think that this give-away is such a bad idea, considering the fact that we are trying to convince people to lead a healthy lifestyle with regards to eating and drinking habits.

Editor: Your health concerns are well noted. The give-away is a prize in the POST/Shoprite Heritage Day Walk– a competition sponsored by Coca-Cola and promoted by POST.
A diabetic or health-conscious winner could choose sugar-free Coke Zero or Tab as the prize.
