Get ready for laughs, rock and fun festivals

THE Proudly Indian Comedy Festival, a celebratio­n of local culture, heritage and humour, takes place at Sibaya Casino’s iZulu Theatre from Thursday to Saturday.

Local comedians Neville Pillay, Koobeshan Naidoo, Henry Ramkissoon and Anna Lakshmi are expected in the line-up.

The line-up includes beach soccer tournament­s, arts and graffiti, horse riding, fishing, surfing, golf tournament­s, beauty pageants, fashion shows and food stalls. For details, visit www.scottburgh­springfest.co.za. THE Department of Fashion and Textiles at the Durban University of Technology will host its annual fashion show from September 30 until October 2.

MAYA the Bee, the children’s movie, has been released at SterKineko­r cinemas in English, isiZulu and Afrikaans.

On Heritage Day there will be activities at various cinemas throughout the country from 10:30am until 3pm.

ALL Directions, a musical tribute to boy band One Direction, is on at The Barnyard Theatre, Gateway, until Saturday and also October 3-10.

The matinee features a 12piece cast with Barnyard musicians.
