Experimentation over

-

ACTRESS Sakshi Agarwal, pictured, who made her acting debut with last year’s Tamil horror thriller Yoogan, says her days of experimentation are over.

“I signed my first four films in quick succession, simply because I wanted to try my hand at different genres and get as much as exposure as possible. When I signed, I didn’t think much about who I was going to be paired with. What was really important was that I was learning,” Sakshi said.

She’s ready to take the plunge. “I’ve been exposed to good and bad things in the industry in the past year, and I feel I’ve evolved as a person as well as an actor. It’s time to be open for good opportunities.”

In last week’s Tamil release, Kavita Kannadasan Kaadhalika Poraanga, aka KaKaKaPo, Sakshi had a pivotal part. “You could call it a heroine-centric film. Despite the presence of a battalion of comedians, the story revolves around my character. It’s about the first kiss but the story has been treated in a comical way.”

Sakshi has an introductory song in the film, which is directed by Vijay. “It explores the navarasas (nine emotions). I make nine appearances.”

Describing the film as a live action comic book, Sakshi said: “Apart from oodles of comedy, the film also has shades of fantasy. With so many characters aiming to entertain, it’s like watching a live comedy.”

Asked if she felt lost in the presence of Robo Shankar, Karunas, Srinivasan and Mayilsamy, Sakshi said: “I learnt a lot from them.” – IANS
