Prepare to put on the posh!

-

I KNOW pay day has passed and most of us are looking forward to the next.

So I thought I would give the ladies a little heads up about the POST Women’s Day Breakfast set to take place on August 10.

Some of you are probably thinking: “What Women’s Day breakfast and all?” acting so posh.

But I feel a sense of pride about a month being dedicated to all women regardless of the role they play in society.

I know many of you are rolling your eyes thinking, “Wait until you have kids to have a sense of real pride”, but hey, Women’s Day is for me, for now.

And quite frankly, while my identity document proves I am a woman, I feel like a girl on most days.

But after I wore Ruby Woo lipstick from Mac, my editor confirmed I was a “big woman”, so it’s settled.

Anyway, POST is going all out this year. Rightly so, with the theme being “empowerment”.

And we all need empowerment. It’s not just for CEOs or account executives.

The breakfast is open to all women regardless of your social standing or your belief of what your social standing might be.

And it’s going to be posh, my favourite thing.

High tea at the Hilton Hotel in Durban.

Friends

Many will say, “Can’t catch that one, she’s going Hilton.”

Anyway, bring the friends along and prepare to have a lovely morning with entertainment by television personalities, comedians, businesswomen, mothers, wives – Leeanda Reddy and Krijay Govender.

Why did I give you all their hats?

Not to make them sound posh, but to show that we can all identify with each other in one way or the other.

So apart from identifying from these women, they promise to entertain and empower you.

Now what I don’t want to hear is that Priya (Leeanda’s character on Isidingo) left Rajesh, and for that white fulla.

That was TV. You have to separate the two.

And well, if Krijay’s Instagram account is anything to go by, I’m preparing to laugh my bhajia off on the person sitting next to me.

Krijay is really witty and funny.

And quite frankly, life is all about laughing.

Nothing is better than laughing with good women.

And eating every different kind of carb (Banting for who?)

And lastly, celebrating being women.

I hope to see you there!
