Gautami, Kamal split

-

AST week Gautami Tadimalla, pictured, confirmed she was no longer together with actor-film-maker Kamal Haasan.

Explaining the reason for parting ways, she said their paths had irreversibly diverged and it had taken her a long time to accept this truth.

“It is heartbreaking for me to have to say today that I and Mr. Haasan are no longer together. After almost 13 years together, it has been one of the most devastating decisions that I have ever had to make in my life,” Gautami wrote on her blog.

Although not married, Gautami and Haasan have been staying under the same roof for over a decade.

“It is never easy for anyone in a committed relationship to realise that their paths have irreversibly diverged and that the only choices in front of them are to either compromise with their dreams for life, or to accept the truth of their solitude and move ahead,” she said.

“It has taken me a very long time, a couple of years at the very least, to accept this heartbreaking truth and come to this decision,” she explained.

Admitting that change was inevitable, she said she did not want to seek sympathy or assign blame via her post.

“Not all of these changes might be what we expect or anticipate, but that does not in any way negate the very real impact of these

diverging priorities in a relationship.

“This decision to set forth on my own at this stage in my life is perhaps one of the most difficult decisions any woman will ever have to make, but it is a necessary one for me,” she wrote.

To be “the best mother” to her daughter, she said, she has chosen to be at peace with herself.

Gautami went on to add that she would continue to be a fan of Haasan and admired his achievements. “I have stood by him through all his challenges and they have been precious moments for me. I have also learned a great deal from working with him as costume designer on his films, and I’m proud that I was able to do justice to his creative vision in them. Along with all of his accomplishments to date, I know that there is much more to come from him for his audience and I look forward to applauding those successes.”

Gautami was last seen on screen in this year’s trilingual film Manamantha.

Her last film with Haasan was the 2015 Tamil family drama Papanasam. ACTRESS Lisa Haydon, pictured, who is all set to be seen in The Trip, says she is excited to be a part of the web series.

“Very excited to be a part of The Trip. It’s my first fiction series on the web with Bindass. Love the story. Looking forward to shooting,” Lisa said in a statement.

The Trip is a coming-of-age story of four friends who go on a road trip and realise their friendship through the journey. The road trip is a part of one of the friend’s bachelorette celebrations. As they set off on this journey, there comes an emotional roller coaster that establishes the relationships that they share with one another and with themselves.

“Like the name suggests, it’s based on an all-girls trip with four friends as they embark on a journey together,” said the actress, who has worked in films like Queen, Housefull 3 and Aisha.

The show is scheduled to go online in December on Bindass. – IANS
