Relax, be alert, conscious…
In an attempt to start the new year with a healthy body and mind, a yoga session was held at the Botanic Gardens on Sunday. Dr Ansuyah Moodley, chairperson of Sadfal Association, South Africa, gave a lesson in yoga, while Dr Ajesh Maharaj spoke on the imp
VIHANGAM yoga or Brahmavidya was the only form of Bhakti (devotion) known to the sages.
With the passage of time this became fragmented and appeared in different forms as complete yoga practices, for example, raja yoga, hatha yoga, tantra yoga and kundalini yoga.
Vihangam yoga thus happens to be the mother of all yoga practices. This is an esoteric metaphysical science of consciousness that is to be learnt from and practised under the guidance of the sadguru (master of spirituality).
The Sadafal Foundation South Africa is an active affiliate of the parent body in India, Sadguru Sadafaldeo Vihangam Yoga Sansthan.
It is also gratifying to note that our parent body is now an organisation in special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
Extensive scientific research conducted by several scientists, concluded that vIhangam yoga is an ancient, well-experimented technique that helps us in controlling our minds.
The studies conducted on restful alertness revealed that:
• There is a state of high relaxation during the vihangam yoga meditation, meaning that the person is not anxious or tense.
• There is a high alertness during the meditation, which means a person can react efficiently to the task on which he or she is concentrating.
• There is state of consciousness, which is difficult to interpret scientifically.
His Holiness Sadguru Sadafaldeo ji Maharaj declared that vihangam yoga is scientific even at the philosophical level of science.
Let us all be inspired to start or continue with this most ancient technique of meditation for everyone, irrespective of race, religion or age.
Through meditation, start to enjoy the benefits of a consistent sense of well-being, better sleep, faster healing, better breathing, improved eyesight, lower stress, improved concentration and memory and the realisation of your inner-self.
Vihangam yoga belongs to the entire mankind and every human being has a right to this knowledge.
Sadguru says that whenever one selects the true and right path, obstacles are bound to be experienced in many forms to distract one from following this sacred path.
However, one should never be deterred and should not deviate.
One must persevere to practise the vihangam yoga technique within the protection of the Sadguru.
One also needs to understand the commitment of regular practice through meditation in the mornings and evenings.
