Intelligent cinema

-

RUN Vijay makes a worthy comeback after a hiatus of two years. His hair style, the cleft on his chin and his chiselled body make him well suited for his role as Vetri Maaran, an intelligent and hard working policeman on the hunt.

This role was tailor-made for Arun Vijay’s comeback and hopefully this is the movie that will allow him the freedom to become a sought after hero in Tinseltown.

Kuttram 23 deals with the dark world of medical crime. Artificial insemination and sperm donation forms the crux of the story. Although this issue is adult based, the director handles it tastefully, bearing in mind family audiences would be watching Kuttram 23.

A series of unexplained murders and one death in his family sees Vetri Maaran on the hunt for the killer. His investigation takes him deep into the healthcare industry where he uncovers a web of greed and deceit.

Thanks to Kuttram 23, certain aspects of artificial insemination which were never thought of previously are brought to our attention in a simplistic and entertaining manner.

Kuttram 23 will definitely be enjoyed by fans of intelligent cinema who appreciate a slight Hollywood feel to their Kollywood offering.

Kuttram 23 has one song. The romantic portions are few.

Thambi Ramaiah’s comedy is sufficient and not over the top. Yesteryear actor Vijay Kumar, who is Arun Kumar’ dad, features as a police chief and the chemistry between them is palpable.

It is worthy to note the appearance of celebrated stunt choreographer Stunt Silva in the realistically portrayed fight sequences.

Kutram 23.

Whenever Stunt Silva is involved in Kollywood movies, we are in for quite an amazing feast of stunt sequences which are easily on par with Hollywood.

Kuttram 23 is a new generation Kollywood movie which has all the right ingredients to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Kuttram 23 is now showing at Cine Centre Sun Coast with two shows daily.

A must watch movie only on the big screen.
