SAPS reunion
Active and retired members of the South African Police Service recently attended a reunion at Hotel Savera in
Chatsworth. They had entered the SAPS Wentworth Police Training College
under the command of the late General Morgan Chetty as students and did six months’ basic training. They passed out as fully fledged policemen from the college at a parade on January 19, 1984, at the
Kings Park Stadium. Two police instructors who had trained them, Colonel Ronnie Naidoo and Captain
Tiger Ellapen, also attended.
