MORE than 3 000 under-privileged children will enjoy an exclusive day of pampering from celebrities and personalities, business CEOs and entertainers at the IBV International Vaults 9th annual Children’s VIP Day at the Durban Exhibition Centre this weekend.
The children, from various homes around the province, will be treated to a day filled with fun activities and food as part of IBV’s corporate social responsibility programme.
The founder and chief executive of IBV, Ashok Sewnarain, said the event would serve as a perfect platform for celebrities and businessmen and women to carry out the wishes of the children and would encourage a reversal of roles to ensure all the invited children were treated like little VIPs.
“Today, these children are living in our world, but tomorrow we will live in theirs. We believe that by showing these children how special they are, by giving them a day just for them, we are making a meaningful difference in not only our country but our world too.”
The children will indulge in a variety of treats, from ice-cream and candy-floss to burgers and pizza, and enjoy playing in any one of the 24 zones of activities, where they will be able to express themselves through sport, art, music, beauty and much more.
A select few of the children will perform and showcase their many talents on stage in the Children’s VIP Day Talent Show.
To end the day, musicians and performers, including Destruction Boyz and Da LES, who have been specially requested by the children, will take to the stage to perform for the crowd.
