Nominate your woman of wonder

NOMINATIONS for the upcoming fourth annual Women of Wonder (WOW) awards, hosted by Panache CEO Farzana Mayet, are open until Tuesday, so if you know someone who has made an impact in the lives of others, keep reading.

According to Mayet, 50 “ordinary extraordinary women” who have made their mark in their careers will be recognised.

Past WOW honorees included Zoleka Mandela, Vabakshnee Chetty Miller and former Miss Earth, Carla Victor.

“It is a wonderful concept to empower women from different fields who go out of their way to achieve their dreams and goals and the Women of Wonder awards are a wonderful way of appreciating their hard work, determination and dedication. I strongly feel women in all fields must be equally given due recognition,” said Mayet.

A WOW honoree, she added, was someone who was a progressive thinker; a bold, fearless and dynamic leader; a woman who strives to make a difference in society in each and every way; someone who makes a formidable impact on others and serves as a role model; and a woman who inspires and empowers.

The categories are: social, education, literature, medical, entertainment, corporate, culinary and media. Email your nomination to panachesa1@gmail.com with the person’s name, contact details, accolades and point of references. The date and venue for the Durban event is yet to be confirmed.
