Nickname: My name is Omitha but over the years it has been Omi.
Favourite colour: Pink.
Favourite animal: Dog.
Fears: Water and heights. The fear from being caught in a backwash on Durban’s beach 40 years ago has not left me.
Favourite car: MercedesBenz.
Favourite movie: Anything romantic. Love Story is right up there. But a film everyone should watch is the Hindi movie Baghban.
Hobbies: I enjoy reading, crocheting and gardening. I wish I had more time, though, to indulge in my pastimes.
If you could meet anyone dead or alive, who would
it be?: Nelson Mandela. I saw him but never got the opportunity to chat to him.

What are you reading
at the moment?: I am going local. I am busy with Sugarcane Boy by Rubendra Govender and Come to the Point by Ravi Govender. I can’t wait to get my copy of Vanessa Govender’s Beaten but not Broken. Wow! The Govenders have really got the literary world abuzz.
