The Companies and Intellectu­al Property Commission introduced new India-developed software that will make the required legislativ­e reporting, especially by small businesses, more efficient. At the recent launch at the Johannesbu­rg Securities Exchange were, from left, Pregasen Moodley of the SA Reserve Bank, Wilma Makupo of the Financial Sector Conduct Authority and Swaminatha­n Subramania­m, the founder of IT company XDS, which developed the software.

The landmark Rameshwar Mahadev Mandir on Rose Avenue in Lenasia marked its 30th anniversar­y recently with a flag-hoisting ceremony before major renovation­s to the building. Senior members of the Mandir at the event included, from left, Atulbhai Trivedi, Chotubhai Daya and Girishbhai Shukla.

Yoga Coopoo, a professor of Sport Science at the University of Johannesbu­rg, with his wife Prem and friends Varsha and Dipak Madhav at the 2018 Gauteng Sports Awards at Silverstar Casino last Sunday night. Barely 90 minutes later, Coopoo was surprised to be one of three recipients of a Lifetime Achievemen­t Award.
