Murder statistics are chilling to behold

-

THE latest murder statistics show a time of shame and sorrow – 20 336 people murdered in 2017-2018 is a grotesque figure, that is only surpassed by the brutal drug murders in Mexico.

The ferocity and the nature of some of these murders indicate that we have moved from a war zone to a chilling killing field.

This mindless menace of violence in our country stains our land and every one of our lives.

Living in our rainbow nation has become a frightening nightmare.

We seem to be oblivious to our state of anarchy, unaware that sudden death could strike us brutally.

Killers tear the fabric of society without the slightest hesitation.

In these acts of terror, the country is left petrified as the whole nation is degraded.

We seemingly tolerate a rising level of insane violence that ignores our common humanity and our claim to civilisation alike.

You are unaware that you could be the next victim.

We often excuse those who are willing to build their own lives on the shattered dreams of others.

Our bloody society is left with no option but to deal with these monsters in human garb in a manner commensurate to the gravity, perversity, atrociousness and repugnance of these heinous and cowardly crimes.

These brutal killers cut across every stratum of society, which instils fear into the populace.

Our country needs to implement the Old Testament, which demands an-eye-foran-eye justice, to protect the citizenry.
