Propagate, preserve and spread our culture

-

WITHOUT doubt, the Merebank Tamil School Society (MTSS) Tamil Festival knocked many off their feet, with some of the best young talent on stage.

Words cannot express the excitement of everyone who attended. It is a foregone conclusion that the MTSS enjoys an undisputed leadership in organising such an event.

It is time for the various bodies to promote a Tamil festival of this nature, so they can propagate and preserve the mother-tongue language to youth – our future leaders.

The youth will take our culture to the next generation.

I must be forthright in my contention that the Tamil festival is best presented by co-ordinator Morgan Nadasen and the members of the MTSS.

The Tamil community has given a mandate to promote, propagate and preserve our mother tongue and music.

It was so heart-warming to see dedicated members of the MTSS – the likes of Mr Desan, Yogin Nadasen, Dan Moodliar, Professor Gan Moodley and not forgetting our father, Athie Nadasen, for their invaluable assistance, commitment and guidance – and the many others, who make great sacrifices by giving our children the opportunity to show their skills and talent.

To all the members, I leave you with a saying: “The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money or the most awards, but are the ones who care.”

This is what the MTSS stands for. God bless all your members in creating a culture awakening for our future generations DHAYALAN MOODLEY Mobeni Heights
