Tammany, Dynamos in late charge for title

THE race to land Safa Chatsworth’s Premier League crown will go down to the wire.

With two games remaining, Tammany Hotspurs and Summerfiel­d Dynamos are vying for the title. Tammany has a two-point advantage at this stage.

Dynamos will take on thirdplace­d Sunset United, while Tammany will tackle the much-improved Dimes United.

Both matches will be played simultaneo­usly at 12.30pm on Sunday with the Dynamos and Sunset game taking place at the Chatsworth Stadium, while Tammany and Dimes play at the Road 1016 grounds.

Chatsworth’s president Nelson Kuppan said: “We are expecting both games to be exhilarati­ng encounters as both teams have displayed great character and ability throughout the season.”

Meanwhile, action in Safa Tongaat’s Senior Futsal League is hotting up as the season nears a conclusion. Log leaders Buffelsdal­e Giants “A” dropped two crucial points in their midweek draw against the experience­d Railways FC “A”.

Calypso Sporting “A” remained undefeated as they overcame Cameroon FC 5-4, this after leading 4-1 at the break. The victory took Calypso “A” to joint second position with Belchester “A”, another unbeaten team in the league.

Belchester “A” and Calypso “A” trail Buffelsdal­e Giants “A” by a single point with one game remaining.

On Saturday, the associatio­n’s junior futsal teams will participat­e in a knockout cup competitio­nat the Tongaat Sports Centre.

The competitio­n will cater for Under 11, 13, 15 and 17 divisions.
