TV channel treat for film fans

Zee Bollymovie­s (DStv Channel 114) has some awesome highlights in February. Here’s a glance at some:

February 2: Cheeni Kum, 9.45pm

A 64-year-old suave chef and a 34-year-old charming girl fall in love. Convincing the girl’s father that a man older than he is suitable for his daughter causes undue pressure on what is an innocent relationsh­ip. Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu.

February 3: Dil Se, 9.45pm

Amar leaves home to work for India Radio Station. On his way, he meets a woman, Meghna, and instantly falls in love with her. Amar tries by all means to impress Meghna to show his affection; little does he know that she is part of a secret group with an agenda for revolution­ising India through terrorist attacks. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Manisha Koirala and Preity Zinta.

February 9: Machine, 9.45pm

A high-octane drama featuring car racing enthusiast­s, murder and deception. Sarah and Ransh share a common passion for car racing and often race together. When their mutual friend, Aditya, decides to propose to Sarah, he dies in a car crash, leaving her depressed. Starring Mustafa Burmawalla, Kiara

February 10: Swades, 9.45pm

A successful Indian scientist returns to an Indian village to take his nanny to America with him, and in the process rediscover­s his roots. Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Gayatri Joshi

February 16: Munna Michael, 9.45pm A young man tries to follow the footsteps of his idol, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Starring Tiger Shroff. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nidhhi Agerwal

February 17: Mukkabaaz, 9.45pm Shrawan is an honest boxer who wants to make a name for himself. He is stuck in a rut and then he thinks he has landed the perfect opportunit­y, only to be made an errand boy by the boxing federation head. He falls in love with the wrong girl and finds himself fighting for his honour and his love. Starring Vineet Kumar Singh, Zoya Hussain and Ravi Kishan

February 23: Welcome to Karachi, 9.45pm

Two Indian men get lost trying to get to America. They find themselves in

Pakistan. Starring Arshad Warsi and Jackky Bhagnani

February 24: Omkara, 9.45pm

In this adaptation of Shakespear­e’s Othello, set in India, bandit Omkara abducts his lady love, Dolly, from her family. He gets away with the kidnapping. A conspiracy, however, forms against him when he denies his right-hand man a promotion. Ultimately, this plot threatens not only his relationsh­ip with Dolly, but their lives. Starring Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Vivek Oberoi.
