Enjoy the funny side of love

- LATOYA NEWMAN Should I invite my date? Is this a singles event? Do I have to share a story?

WHILE Valentine’s Day is centred around love, one show coming to Durban will focus on dating – gone bad.

Story Party – True Dating Stories has toured over 50 countries and will be held on V-Day at That Brewing Company in Station Drive, Morningside.

The show, which attracts like-minded crowds who flock to enjoy and share a dating-gone-wrong story or two, will be hosted by storytellers Rachman Blake and Emily van Dyke from California.

Sean Roberts, from That Brewing Company, said that at Story Party you would hear true dating stories that would make you feel better – because you realise your experiences could be worse.

Stories about ghosting, unwanted pictures, splitting the bill, cat-fishing, heartbreak, and more are on the cards.

“If anyone wants to go up on stage and share their story, they can.

“But if you are too shy, there is an aspect of the show where you can anonymously write down your story and the storytellers will share it for you.

“The show is a bit of a cross between storytelling and stand-up comedy,” said Roberts.
