Cooper, the president of the Pan-African Psychology Union, was asked some tough questions by committee members on several positions he held over the years.

The DA’s Phumzile van Damme questioned him about a controversy regarding the procurement of a tender at a bowling club where he sat as a director.

Cooper, however, answered confidently, stating that the matter was settled in court in their favour.

Van Damme also questioned him about an investigation on 11 issues of governance at the University of DurbanWestville where he had been a vice-chancellor.

“The report portrayed you as manipulative.

“That is exactly what we don’t need on the SABC board and I would like clarification,” said Van Damme.

“Why didn’t you? It’s 2019 and this is following you. This is a major red flag,” continued
