Kollywood has hot new releases lined up
MADHAVAN’S last outing in a fullyfledged role was with Vijay Sethupathy in the movie Vikram Vedam.
Both actors went on to garner critical and commercial success.
Madhavan recently wrapped up shooting for his debut directorial venture Rocketry – The Nambi Effect, in which he also stars.
It is based on the life of former scientist Nambi Narayanan, who was recently honoured with the Padma Award.

MAKKAL Selvan Vijay Sethupathy will play the legendary Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan in his next movie. The biopic may be titled 800, as the spinner claimed 800 wickets in his brilliant career.
The movie will be directed by Sripathy Rangasamy, who debuted in Kollywood with the 2010 film
Kanimozhi. It starred Jai and Shazahn Padamsee.
Muralitharan will coach Sethubathy for his role. The movie is slated for release next year.

THALA Ajith’s Viswasam was a blockbuster and a lot is expected from his forthcoming movie, Ner Konda
Paarvai, directed by H Vinoth.
It is a remake of the 2016 Bollywood movie Pink, which featured Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan.
Ner Konda Paarvai also stars Vidya Balan, Shraddha Srinath, Abhirami, Andrea Tariang and Adhik Ravichandran.
The trailer received a staggering response. Three songs were also released – Vaanil Irul, Kaalam EDM and Thee Mugam Dhaan.
Ner Konda Paarvai will release worldwide on August 10.
● Keerthy Suresh on a (film) roll
KEERTHY Suresh had a string of highprofile releases last year with Suriya in
Thaana Serndha Koottam, Vikram in Saamy 2 and Vijay in Sarkar.
In addition, her award-winning portrayal of the legendary actress Savithri in Mahanati’/Nadigaiyar
Thilagam won her critical acclaim. Suresh can now be seen in Mohan Lal’s Malayalam movie Marakkar – Arabikadalinte Simham.
It is directed by Priyadarshan. She will soon start shooting for a female-centric action movie produced by Karthik Subbaraj of Pizza fame.
● Spotlight on Rajinikanth
SUPERSTAR Rajinikanth was the chief guest at the audio launch of Suriya’s Kaapaan.
Rajini praised lyricist Vairamuthu, saying that after reading his book,
Tamizhaattru Padai, his respect for him increased.
The book espouses the merits of the Tamil language.
Rajini said his forthcoming movie, an AR Murugadas directorial titled
Darbar, would be remembered for
years.

VIKRAM’S performance in Kadaram
Kondan, where he plays a double agent turned crook, has received an amazing response.
The film is bankrolled by Kamal Hassan and stars his daughter Akshara. His other daughter, Shruthi, is featured in the title track.
Kadaram Kondan is on circuit in Durban and Gauteng.
