Money first, black lives second

-

I HAVE been mulling over why a certain sector of our community and the DA have been agitating for the opening of the South African economy.

Then it struck me. Most of those infected by Covid-19 are from the black, Indian and coloured communities, and many of the victims live in the townships.

The majority of the white community living in the suburbs are hardly affected by the coronavirus.

It is an undisputed fact that big businesses are losing billions of rand due to the strict Covid-19 lockdown regulations.

During the lockdown, some are unable to carry on with life as they once did, hence the call by big businesses to open the economy.

If our economy is fully opened and people die by the thousands, like the US and other Western countries, it will be considered collateral damage.

It seems that money and pleasure are more important than black lives.
