Twins’ thirst for success
TWINS Tia and Tamara Haridew have two reasons to celebrate.
Not only did they graduate with Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting degrees, they also turned 21 today (Wednesday).
The sisters, of Chatsworth, said it was satisfying to graduate after three years of hard work.
They said the journey was long and challenging, but also rewarding.
The twins were also recognised as members of The Golden Key International Honour Society.
They were part of the top 15% of academic achievers within their degree.
“This was a big accomplishment for us and the highlight of our academic career,” said Tamara.
“What keeps us going is our thirst for success. We continuously strive to grow, improve and learn new things.”
They said they were fortunate to have each other to count on and that they were blessed to have been best friends from birth. “We share a close bond and can tell each other anything.”
Tia said that from a young age they did everything together.
“The best part about being a twin is that I never had to show up to the first day of school or college alone. It was also beneficial to study the same course as we could help each other if one of us struggled with any of the modules.
“We were each other’s biggest motivators, which further contributed to us excelling and passing. This experience has brought us even closer,” said Tia.
The sisters are currently studying towards postgraduate diplomas in accountancy. They thereafter plan to serve their articles at accounting firms in Johannesburg.
