Deliberate lies must be challenged

-

I WISH to thank the POST for the recent appropriate coverage on the movie The Kashmir Files and I wish to reply to Mr Ebrahim Essa on his opposition to the same.

Mr Essa makes several contestable statements that reflect his ignorance about his knowledge of Indian politics as well as of his own religion. These statements need rebuttal so that the deliberate lies are challenged: that the true Kashmiri Pandit story has not surfaced yet; the aim of the movie is to make Hindus hate all Muslims; all Muslims were once Kashmiri Pandits who converted to Islam; and that India is getting rid of minorities.

People he refers to as “insurgents” are actually terrorists, who are influenced by verses from the Qur’an such as 9:5 and 9:29, which read respectively:

“But when the forbidden 4 months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever you find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah …”

“Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture – (fight) until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.”

These verses, together with numerous others from the Qur’an, are being constantly quoted internationally against the hate crimes perpetrated by subscribers to them. It is estimated that at least 60% of the Qur’an has to do with destroying the “kafeers/infidels/ non-believers”.

When one is taught to kill someone who is not of your faith, then one has to hate them first, before acting against them.

If these verses appeared in any other manual of instructions they would be outlawed in most countries as hate speech.

Hindus do not have to make movies to hate Muslims. If Essa looks intelligently at the turmoil in the Islamic world and the killings and plundering that have taken place throughout the history of Islam, up to this very moment, then he would, if he is honest, very likely come up with a different perspective of alleged “hate” towards Muslims.

Kindly interrogate the reasons for Saudi Arabia’s alliance with 10 other countries against Iran and the Houthis of Yemen. Surely the genocide taking place there is not done out of love between Sunnis and Shi’ites, Mr Essa?

And you cannot blame Hindus for that either. What is happening in Yemen has been happening for more than 700 years in India, instigated by Muslim invaders. This is why Waseem Rizvi, formerly of the Shia Waqf Board, now a self-converted Hindu in India, asked for 26 verses in the Qur’an to be omitted – because they instigate hate and terrorism against people who are happily not Muslims.

Do you not recall what the mosques in Kashmir were announcing from their domes Mr Essa: “Ralive-Tsalive-ya Galive,”: convert to Islam, leave Kashmir or die”.

Would you love Hindus Mr Essa, if our scriptures instructed you in such a way, or made such announcements from their temple domes?

For the record, I do not hate Muslims. However, many people may want to think that of me. But as I see it, Islam is peaking presently, and in this age of information, social media will make it difficult for subscribers of all hateful ideologies to justify and defend their positions.
