Victoria St Market feature was inspiring

CONGRATULATIONS to Nonjabulo Bhengu on three well-written articles on the Victoria Street Market (POST, March 30 – April 3).

The feature was heart-warming and inspiring in its description of the success stories of Roothiran Moodley, Sanusha Moodliar-Ponen and Amee Ramkissoon, despite difficult circumstances. These are stories that need to be recorded for posterity, and all families should attempt to record their histories, however humbly told.

Congratulations also to the Editor for making the effort to rectify what has hitherto been largely a skewed history, recorded by people for whom some lives in South Africa did not matter.
