I am angry…
MILLIONS of rand were spent on the Zondo Commission of Inquiry that exposed those implicated in serious crimes, only for the court to acquit those accused of corruption.
Acting Judge Nompumelelo Gusha ruled that the State failed to produce enough evidence to show that the Gupta family and their associates were implicated in the laundering of R24.9m of the proceeds from the alleged Nulane scam. Shame, will this be the pattern in the future for more failed corruption cases?
I am angry at the utterances of a bigoted, selfish, narcissistic, socialist despicable and guttersnipe politician who calls Russian President Vladimir Putin his hero. He also threatened the premier of the Western Cape, that if the premier arrests Putin then “he would meet his maker”.
Putin is often compared to Hitler and has blood on his hands. This Putin hero-worshipper should look the Ukrainian people in the eye and utter his dose of this diatribe.
The Ukrainians lost thousands of their innocent citizens, buildings, towns, cities and infrastructure when Putin unleashed his ruthless army on Ukraine, a sovereign state. This mass murderer – a coward, insane savage, mentally deranged dictator and a white supremacist – is called a hero.
Where was this heartless politician hiding when human beings were slaughtered during the 2021 riots, or when mass killings are taking place regularly? He couldn’t save the victims locally but is prepared to protect Putin and send another to his maker. This political moron should kiss his children sleeping in bed every day and pray to God and be thankful that they were not victims of Putin’s atrocities.
I am angry at our government who create an unnecessary Cabinet position – minister of electricity. Remember how Minister Kgosientso Ramokgopa, during the first couple of weeks of his appointment, went helter-skelter, hurry-scurry, hop-skip and jump from power station to power station.
His escapades didn’t last long and, as predicted by many (new brooms sweep clean), he retreated to his ivory tower like a cowboy riding into the
sunset, his gun merely a damp squib.
More annoying is that Eskom announces that it will exempt itself from reporting irregular and fruitless expenditure and losses from criminal conduct. Indeed, South Africa is becoming a failed state and a banana republic.
I am angry but not shocked, nor disappointed at the dismissal of South Africa’s extradition application for the Guptas.
Our NPA fell hook, line and sinker for the antics of the Dubai legal authorities. Did the NPA for one moment think that our extradition order was going to materialise?
The world laughs and ridicules our diplomatic ties with them. There is no more respect, dignity and honour for our beloved South Africa. We are mocked because our government officials collude with thieves and fraudsters.
The Guptas are laughing at our incompetence, as they bask in their new-found freedom in Vanuatu, a small Pacific island sanctuary and haven for criminals.
I am angry at the stubborn, lying former minister of mineral resources, Mosebenzi Zwane, for being treated like a schoolboy by Parliament and being kindly asked to apologise for his state capture malfeasance.
He was found to breach public trust through the state capturerelated sale of Optimum Coal mine to Tegeta Exploration and Resources (a Gupta-owned firm).
He was asked to apologise. A “sorry” would have been sufficient and all would have been forgiven and forgotten. No, he just didn’t pitch up in Parliament to apologise. Such arrogance.
I am angry at the open conflict, walkout, senseless party politicking and continuous election of mayors in the Joburg metro.
This has become a game of musical chairs and a merry-go-round (blind man’s bluff). Council meetings descend into chaos. Elected councillors are failing to fulfil their constituency mandates.
While service delivery comes to a standstill, power-hungry individuals fight for lucrative positions to enrich themselves.
Millions of rand is spent on councillors who do nothing to justify their salaries.
The city of Joburg has had eight mayors in two years.
There is no end in sight for the political instability that has characterised the unstable coalition government in the City of Joburg.
The grim reality is that the climate for change and prosperity in South Africa is a pipe dream – an illusion. Our hard-fought-for freedom is meaningless when the majority of South Africans are still not free from the shackles of poverty, hunger, unemployment, inflation, discrimination and social injustice.
While corrupt officials drink from the fountain of self-enrichment, then us the ordinary citizens will forever be exploited continuously by the system.
When the old refuses to die and the new struggle to be born, monsters appear with which we now wrestle.
