Previously one of the top-selling brands when it comes to SUVS, Honda is known for its reliability, affordability, and comfort. However, in an increasingly crowded crossover and SUV market, it does get difficult for manufacturers to compete. That’s why Honda noticeably upped the ante with the new C-RV – more specifically, the 1.5 T Executive. Starting with the unmistakable sleek exterior, the CR-V is a real head-turner that stays true to the Honda brand. The line-up consists of four models, comprising a choice of two engines and four specification levels. All four models feature Honda’s Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), and there is also a choice of frontwheel drive and intelligent all-wheel drive. The 1.5T models break new ground for the CR-V by offering turbocharged power for the first time, delivering 140 kw at 5,600 r/min, together with 240 Nm of maximum torque in a broad band between 2,000 and 5,000 r/min. Inside, the C-RV can comfortably seat five adults, and offers 522 litres of luggage space, extendable to 1,084 litres with the seatbacks folded down. Other specs include: leather upholstery, Digital Driver Information Interface, 7-inch Display Audio infotainment system, Active Noise Control, panoramic sunroof, auto-levelling headlights, start/ stop button, keyless smart entry, USB connection and HDMI connections in the rear and front, park distance control, and sufficient compartments for coffee, keys, and wallet. The range is backed by a comprehensive five-year/200,000 km warranty, as well as a five-year/90,000 km service plan. Also included is a three-year AA Road Assist package.

Price: R584,900.
