Reuben’s Restaurant

When in Paternoster, and especially if you are staying in one of the Abalone House accommodations, you cannot miss out on a meal at the famous Reuben’s Restaurant.

Celebrated South African chef, Reuben Riffel, added his fine dining stamp to the culinary scene of Paternoster with Reuben’s Restaurant becoming the onsite restaurant of Abalone House in 2013. Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea can be savoured at the restaurant. Dinner is a memorable occasion, with the compact menu of scrumptious South African favourites paired with either cocktails, wine, French champagne, or one of the brandies or whiskies from the extensive list. Riffel and his team at his Paternoster establishment choose the best local ingredients to create dishes that pay tribute to traditional flavours. Some dinner options include double-baked snoek soufflé with salted apricots, roasted pork belly with chilli-lime and ginger caramel, as well as malva pudding with buttermilk sherbet and Amarula custard.
