From the iconic Paarl wine estate, which has now entered its second century of wine production, this Chenin boasts a melange of ripe fruit aromas which flow onto the palate. Hints of lime rind and caramelised marmalade character with sliced apple, peach, melon, and pineapple are apparent. Fresh but subtle acidity with a slightly fuller mouthfeel will enhance pairing with spicy or creamy dishes. Delicious and complex with a medium length and citrus aftertaste.

Hill & Dale Chardonnay 2019 – Michelangelo Awards 2019 – Gold Medal

Fruit-led and characterful Chardonnay with oak influences and appealing flavours of lemon zest and honey comb. The wine maker is Guy Webber, who has crafted the classic Stellenbosch fruit into a beautiful wine.

Silkbush Mountain Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc 2019 – Michelangelo Awards 2019 – Double Gold Medal

Only an hour-and-a-half’s drive north of Cape Town in the Breedekloof mountains you will find the Silkbush Vineyard, which acquired its name from the tallest peak above the Vineyards – Sybasberg (Afrikaans for Silkbush Mountains). Crafted from a single vineyard block on the slopes of the Breede Valley, this wine expresses forthcoming herbaceous notes with accents of fig, gooseberry, and asparagus. The flavours explode on the palate, with a lingering aftertaste.

Mischa Estate Merlot 2016

From the third-generation Mischa Estate in Wellington. This consistent performer is typical of the 2016 vintage, which was the first year of the drought. Slightly lighter bodied, ruby red with a lighter rim. Succulent red fruit showing nuances of plums, Ribena, raspberry, cassia, and dark chocolate, with lighter and more accessible tannins and a velvety finish.

Silkbush Mountain Vineyards Pinotage 2018

Unique Mountain terroir is displayed through this single vineyard block Pinotage. Ruby red in colour, with a bouquet of dark red fruit resembling mulberries and plums. Each sip offers rich, juicy, ripe fruit flavours with elegant soft tannins. Pinotage is an incredible wine, as it is versatile enough to pair across a huge spectrum of dishes, from game to spicy Middle Eastern dishes. In fact, Pinotage loves chillies and spice.

Kumala Reserve Shiraz 2017

From South Africa’s biggest export brand, this popular bush vine Shiraz is made in a fresh style. Dark, ruby red in colour. A light- to medium-bodied wine. Beautifully balanced flavours of ripe fruit, including dark cherry, add to the complexity of mocha, savoury spice, and hints of liquorice.

Flagstone Dragon Tree Cape Blend 2017

Legend had it that when dragons were mortally wounded, they would fly out to sea to die. Only where the dragon’s blood spilt would a Dragon Tree grow. This expertly-crafted Cape Blend includes Pinotage (38%), Shiraz (30%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (23%), with splashes of Mourvedre, Pinot Noir, and Malbec, aged in both American and French oak barrels. Poetic in all senses, this blend shows an explosion of fruit, including rich, dark berries on the palate with classic lead-pencil and cigar-box tones and a lingering aftertaste. Firm tannin and great structure complete this well-made and harmonious wine.

Daschbosch Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 - Michelangelo Awards 2019 – Gold Medal

In the Breedekloof mountains, 13-year-old vines from the Daschbosch vineyards produce this well-balanced and succulent wine. Handpicked in the early morning and matured in third and fourth fill barrels for seven months. This gives rise to a soft but firm tannic structure, making the wine immediately approachable. Plump, ripe dark berry fruit complements hints of cedar wood and tobacco. The wine satisfies with a rich, complex, and lingering aftertaste.
