Premier Magazine (South AFrica)

Hello!

I wanted to personally welcome you back to the Bidvest Premier Lounges and introduce this month’s all-digital edition of Premier magazine. What a year it has been so far! It seemed almost overnight that I went from working on the May edition of Premier to the very scary news that a national lockdown had been announced.

Now, here we are seven months later, and we’re already in November! I think we can all agree that this year has been hideously long and yet it has also somehow passed in somewhat of a blur.

Local travel opened up in August, and South Africans once again had the freedom to explore the natural beauty and world-class offerings of our beloved country. I managed to escape the city and head off to a secluded cabin in the Karoo, which was just what I needed after four months in my home office.

We’ve got a great edition of Premier for you this month!

Our cover feature was crafted by bespoke safari company, Ker & Downey Africa, as a guide to the best safari lodges in the country. Whether you want to kick back and relax at Tintswalo Safari Lodge or get cosy at Sanbona Dwyka Lodge, Ker & Downey Africa have the perfect safari for you.

Our motoring feature this month is the stylish Ferrari Roma – the newest prancing horse to make its debut in South Africa. Bernie Hellberg Jr was lucky enough to crack an invite to the Roma launch, and he told us all about this prime example of Italian automotive design.

Many of you will be familiar with the Wineland town of Franschhoek, and we have some news on the town’s latest culinary offerings. Chef Darren Badenhorst (Le coin Francais & Le Chene) has taken over the reins at Tuk Tuk Microbrewery. Now offering bistro-style grub, Tuk Tuk is the ideal place for a relaxed meal, washed down by one of their delicious beers.

Stay safe and enjoy the read!
