Reuters fo­cuses on some of the top im­ages and events of this year

EACH year in­ter­na­tional agency Reuters se­lects its top 100 pho­to­graphs of the year.

The pic­tures, taken around the world, are di­vided into cat­e­gories, and re­flect not only im­por­tant news events and peo­ple but cul­ture, re­li­gion and sport.

Among the sto­ries to make this year’s se­lec­tion are the talks be­tween South Korean Pres­i­dent Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, the im­mi­grant is­sue at the Us-mex­i­can bor­der, the refugee cri­sis, clashes be­tween Is­rael and Pales­tine, ter­ror at­tacks and nat­u­ral dis­as­ters such as earthquakes and floods.

Peo­ple in the news in­cluded US Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump, Bri­tain’s Theresa May and Ger­many’s An­gela Merkel, and Pope Fran­cis.
