Heavyweights for All White event
THE line-up for the annual Tshwane All White Jazz and Soul Benefit Concert, scheduled for next weekend, includes the heavyweights of the local industry.
They are Ringo Madlingozi, Sjava, Bucie, Solly Moholo and Benny Mayengani.
Deemed to be Gauteng’s most prominent jazz and soul music festivals, the concert will mark its 11th anniversary when it begins on December 16 at Gold Rush Morula, Mabopane.
Organisers said they anticipated an audience of 7 000 to 10 000 people on that day. They anticipate that the allstar line-up of more than 40 brilliant artists will shake the Gold Rush sports grounds.
Presented by Sister T Promotions, other artists for the day will include Mafikizolo, Kelly Khumalo, Rhythmic Elements, DJ Maphorisa, Wilson B Nkosi, DJ Tazzman and Fifi Cooper.
Dineo Moloisane, Peter Mashata, Salesman, Mawisa and Machuchu.
The event will also feature local crowd-pullers such as Team Skorokoro, DJ Shizo, DJ Tsitso, Vicmo and Comfort, and Dr Jr.
The organisers yesterday launched the benefit concert and used the platform to celebrate their 11th anniversary and announce the introduction of opportunities for local businesses to provide their services.
Managing director Thabiso Mosima said the event was not all about soul and jazz, but also charity and promoting local businesses.
He added that the line-up would consist of at least 50% Gauteng artists to promote home-grown talent.
“For the past 11 years we have been working with charities. We have now adopted three homes, and after the concert a certain percentage of the proceeds will go to them. Business are also invited to sell food, ice, accessories, water, beverages and clothing items.”
A series of adventure sports such as paintball and kart-biking will also take place at the event, also creating business opportunities.
The gates open at 10am.
