Heavy­weights for All White event

THE line-up for the an­nual Tsh­wane All White Jazz and Soul Ben­e­fit Con­cert, sched­uled for next week­end, in­cludes the heavy­weights of the lo­cal in­dus­try.

They are Ringo Madlin­gozi, Sjava, Bu­cie, Solly Mo­holo and Benny Mayen­gani.

Deemed to be Gaut­eng’s most prom­i­nent jazz and soul mu­sic fes­ti­vals, the con­cert will mark its 11th an­niver­sary when it be­gins on De­cem­ber 16 at Gold Rush Morula, Mabopane.

Or­gan­is­ers said they an­tic­i­pated an au­di­ence of 7 000 to 10 000 peo­ple on that day. They an­tic­i­pate that the al­ls­tar line-up of more than 40 bril­liant artists will shake the Gold Rush sports grounds.

Pre­sented by Sis­ter T Pro­mo­tions, other artists for the day will in­clude Mafik­i­zolo, Kelly Khu­malo, Rhyth­mic El­e­ments, DJ Mapho­risa, Wil­son B Nkosi, DJ Tazzman and Fifi Cooper.

Dineo Moloisane, Peter Mashata, Sales­man, Maw­isa and Machuchu.

The event will also fea­ture lo­cal crowd-pullers such as Team Sko­rokoro, DJ Shizo, DJ Tsitso, Vicmo and Com­fort, and Dr Jr.

The or­gan­is­ers yes­ter­day launched the ben­e­fit con­cert and used the plat­form to cel­e­brate their 11th an­niver­sary and an­nounce the in­tro­duc­tion of op­por­tu­ni­ties for lo­cal busi­nesses to pro­vide their ser­vices.

Man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Thabiso Mosima said the event was not all about soul and jazz, but also char­ity and pro­mot­ing lo­cal busi­nesses.

He added that the line-up would con­sist of at least 50% Gaut­eng artists to pro­mote home-grown ta­lent.

“For the past 11 years we have been work­ing with char­i­ties. We have now adopted three homes, and after the con­cert a cer­tain per­cent­age of the pro­ceeds will go to them. Busi­ness are also in­vited to sell food, ice, ac­ces­sories, wa­ter, bev­er­ages and cloth­ing items.”

A se­ries of ad­ven­ture sports such as paint­ball and kart-bik­ing will also take place at the event, also creat­ing busi­ness op­por­tu­ni­ties.

The gates open at 10am.
