‘Terrorist’ drone attacks in Syria
DAMASCUS: Fires broke out at several oil and gas facilities in central Syria after they were attacked by drones, Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Ali Ghanem said yesterday, blaming terrorists.
The Homs refinery and three other natural gas facilities were attacked at dawn, causing fire and material damage, Ghanem said.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fires, and technical teams have already started “maintenance works” and managed to ensure the continuity of gas flow to the plants, Ghanem said.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attacks.
