Police thwart series of letter bombs
AMSTERDAM: A letter bomb caught fire at a bank in Amsterdam yesterday and another was disarmed at an office near Utrecht, the latest in a series of such attacks in the Netherlands this week.
No one was hurt in the incident at ING Bank, although one person had inhaled smoke. Police disarmed a letter bomb at an office of IT firm Unisys near Utrecht. No one was injured.
Police say the sender is demanding a ransom in bitcoin.
Also yesterday, the Madrid headquarters of Amazon.com were evacuated after a bomb threat.
