Stars raise millions for bushfire relief
SYDNEY: Tens of thousands of people rocked out at Sydney’s largest stadium yesterday for a star-studded bushfire relief concert.
Some 75 000 people attended the
concert, a 10-hour massive show of support for the bushfire-ravaged communities.
The benefit concert raised $9.5 million (R95m), the organisers said.
British rock band Queen with American headliner Adam Lambert reprised their 1985 set for the concert. They were joined by global acts Alice Cooper and kd lang.
Rural Fire Service received 1000 free tickets for their volunteer firefighters.
