‘Sea monster’ sets tongues wag­ging

CARDIFF: A mys­te­ri­ous half-fish, half-crocodile has been dis­cov­ered in the Welsh town of Risca.

A woman said her son found the body of the rot­ting sea monster on the way to school. Pho­tos up­loaded on so­cial me­dia sparked de­bate.

Some said the mys­te­ri­ous crea­ture was a pike, oth­ers thought that it was an al­li­ga­tor gar, which is found in North Amer­ica, and can grow to 1.8m and weigh over 45kg. The Royal So­ci­ety for the Preven­tion of Cru­elty to An­i­mals said there had been in­stances when ex­otic an­i­mals kept at home were thrown into the street when it be­came im­pos­si­ble meet their needs.
