GHANA SHUTS ITS BOR­DERS TO SE­LECT COUN­TRIES

GHANA ‘s gov­ern­ment has de­cided to close its bor­ders to trav­ellers from coun­tries which have recorded more than 200 cases of the coro­n­avirus as the West African na­tion seeks to pre­vent con­ta­gion within its bor­ders. The gov­ern­ment is ask­ing air­lines to pre­vent af­fected trav­ellers from board­ing flights, while cit­i­zens and res­i­dent-per­mit hold­ers will be re­quired to self-iso­late for 14 days on ar­rival, Min­is­ter of In­for­ma­tion Kojo Op­pong Nkrumah said yes­ter­day in the cap­i­tal, Ac­cra. “All travel to Ghana is strongly dis­cour­aged,” he said. Con­firmed cases have in­creased to six af­ter four trav­ellers tested pos­i­tive. | Bloomberg
