Jail for de­lib­er­ately cough­ing at work­ers

LON­DON: Any­one claim­ing to have coro­n­avirus who de­lib­er­ately coughs at emer­gency work­ers faces be­ing jailed for two years, says Bri­tain’s Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Prose­cu­tions.

Max Hill said yes­ter­day that there had been re­ports of peo­ple cough­ing in the faces of po­lice, emer­gency work­ers and shop staff.

On Wed­nes­day, a man ad­mit­ted three counts of as­sault­ing an emer­gency worker af­ter claim­ing to have coro­n­avirus and di­rect­ing coughs at po­lice of­fi­cers.
