Nerputh murder case postponed

The man charged with the murder of Pietermaritzburg businesswoman and socialite Kavitha Nerputh (41) remains in custody after his case was postponed last Thursday.

Simphiwe Mweli (37) was arrested and charged with murder. He previously abandoned his bail application.

Nerputh who was often in the public spotlight was murdered in February this year. Police found her unresponsive in her Audi which was parked in a secluded spot at Alexandra Park. She appeared to have been strangled.
