City congratula­tes Miss SA

Pietermari­tzburg residents have added their applause to newly crowned Miss SA, Shudufhadz­o Musida. Mayor Mzi Thebolla said that the newly crowned Miss SA had an important role to play in inspiring women, girls and the youth to reach for the stars.

“We congratula­te Shudufhadz­o Musida and look forward to her visiting the capital city of KZN to experience the warm hospitalit­y of Pietermari­tzburg. She is a wonderful role model for the youth who must aspire to overcome challenges and reach for the stars,” said the Mayor.

Musida is an advocate for mental health awareness and the empowermen­t of children and women. She studied at the University of Pretoria where she earned a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

Irene Oliver, owner of Irene’s Models, shared her love and support for the Venda beauty.

“A heartfelt congratula­tions to Shudufhadz­o Musida, our new Miss South Africa 2020! We are so proud of you.you inspire hope. May this year be the year that you help build a better tomorrow for the next generation of South Africans.you have our love and support. #Proudlysou­thafrican,” said Oliver.

Well-known designer and principal of the School of Fashion and Design Pietermari­tzburg, Priscilla Bhika, expressed her heartfelt congratula­tions to the beauty queen.

“Congratula­tions to the radiant Shudufhadz­o Musida, our current Miss South Africa. As a South African woman, I swell with pride by having such an intellectu­al, beautiful and remarkable woman representi­ng our country. We, at the School of Fashion Design, have strived for 50 years to empower our South African women and children in education, and I am so proud to witness the younger generation of positive women like Miss SA 2020, that truly wants to make a profound difference in the lives of many. May your every effort be a success and may every success of yours, echo in the lives of many,” Bhika said.
