-

Atvance Academy is offering fully sponsored accredited training to 250 students between 18-27 years old in the Northdale and Copesville areas. Registration opens January 17 and closes February 4.

The academy has campus sites at the Ward 28 Councillor’s Building and Bethel Ministries (Copesville). It is offering the following courses for the 2022 Academic year: Occupational Health & Safety (NQF Level 2), Business Administration (NQF Level 3) and Information Technology Support (NQF Level 4 – matric required). All courses offered are accredited by SETA and comply with the national qualification framework. The duration of all courses is one year. Upon completion, students will be awarded with a national certificate for their respective courses.

Farrell Drew, KZN co-ordinator for Atvance Academy, said this is the moment to strive for self-investment. “Nothing in life is certain, except the amount of work you put into your future. Atvance Academy remains determined in continuing to change the unemployment narrative of the communities in which we exist, through youth development and community upliftment.

“We understand that with the socio-economic status of the average South African. Most parents are unable to send their child to a tertiary institution. In many cases, younger South Africans are being asked to join the employed community to contribute to their household for the hope of sustenance but at the expense of educational advancement.

“At Atvance, we strive to be a part of the solution by offering fully sponsored accredited training in local communities to assist members in increasing their chance of employability while also preparing them for the working environment. This is why we welcome any student who meets the requirements, with or without a matric certificate, to apply without hesitation. Being a community-centered organisation, we have also made an attempt at minimising travelling costs by working with community leaders and various local organizations to find suitable environments conducive for learning in close proximity to the homes of our learners.”

“We currently boast over 200 campuses across South Africa and have developed more than 50 000 students’ skills, allowing our youth to be both educated and empowered. We are proud to boast a learning community who has shared multiple success stories after leaving the academy. We encourage those who are currently unemployed, those who have recently matriculated or are unable to afford tertiary fees and those who seek to add more qualifications to their CV to apply,” Drew said.
