Zuma's SA U19 selection highlights hub strength in KZN Inland
Former St Charles College pupil and Sweetwaters Hub graduate Ntando Zuma has been selected for the South Africa Under-19 squad for the upcoming ICC Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup to be hosted in South Africa next year.
The young Zuma, who has already represented the Tuskers Colts side, will graduate to the AET Tuskers senior squad at the conclusion of his World Cup duties. However, his past is another shining example of talent identification.
Hailing from the Sweetwaters township in Pietermaritzburg, Zuma was a part of the Sweetwaters Hub before being identified and given a bursary to St Charles College where he has thrived and been a stand-out performer throughout.
He has represented KZN Inland Schools teams all the way through his high school career and will represent the KZN Inland
U19 side at the upcoming Khaya Majola Week.
CEO of KZN Inland Cricket, Jason Sathiaseelan, is full of praise for the youngster and is looking forward to seeing how he progresses.
"We are indeed proud of
Ntando Zuma’s selection having watched him develop as a Sweetwaters Hub player," Sathiaseelan said. "Ntando has already played for the Tuskers Colts team and we are looking forward to having him in the AET Tuskers squad on completion of his World
Cup duties.
"As a talented wicket-keeper/batter he's a player that we are eager to see develop and we wish him all the very best for the upcoming Under-19 World Cup," he said.
The SA U19 side will be in Group B with England, Scotland and the West Indies. Before that, Zuma will represent KZN Inland Under-19 at the Khaya Majola Week in Mkhanda from 16-20 December.
