Good tidings of great joy
In the midst of the many challenges that we are encountering, I bring to you the message that the angel of God brought to the shepherds who were in the field taking care of their sheep: "Fear not, for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David (Bethlehem), a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2: 8-15). May this great joy be a time of peace and goodwill to the whole world.
As the angels announced to the shepherds the birth of Jesus Christ, so did the star announce to the wise men the birth of the Saviour. They also came to Bethlehem to worship Jesus Christ by bringing gifts of gold; signifying that Jesus is King, frankincense; signifying that Jesus is Priest and myrrh; signifying that Jesus is Saviour. So Jesus came for the poor and the rich, the educated and the uneducated. He came for all people. May we worship Jesus Christ as the shepherds and wise men did, so that this will be a time of good tidings of great joy.
Challenges vary (spiritual, emotional, domestic, financial, gender-based violence, etc). But God, in his love and mercy, thought of us, in this he purposed to assist us. "For unto us (all people) a Child (Jesus) is born, Unto us a Son (Jesus) is given and the government shall be on his shoulder and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace". (Isaiah: 9:6). This scripture encapsulates all the attributes of Jesus Christ in his life and ministry to all people.
"Joy to the world, the Lord is come. Let earth receive her King. Let every heart prepare Him room".
May you enjoy a Blessed Christmas as we celebrate a person and not an event. Jesus is the reason for the season.
