ADDITIONAL MODELS TO THE RANGE

Kia Motors SA has revised its local Sportage model range, adding a total of seven new and/or enhanced models to the range. This sees the comprehensively kitted entrylevel 2.0 Ignite model – with standard features that include LED daytime running lights, automatic headlight control, rear park distance control, Bluetooth connectivity, and steering wheelmounted remote controls – gaining a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The new Ignite Plus derivatives gain exterior enhancements such as front fog lights and 17-inch wheels, as well as an electro-chromatic rearview mirror in the interior. It is available with the 114 kw, 192 Nm 2.0-litre petrol engines.

It also marks the debut of a 1.7-litre CRDI engine (85 kw at

4,000 r/min, 280 Nm between

1,250 and 2,750 r/min, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox) in the range.

The EX grade is expanded with a 2.0-litre petrol option and two Plus derivatives with added features including an electric parking brake, front park distance control, leather upholstery, electric folding side mirrors and 19-inch wheels, electric front seats, 7-inch touchscreen satnav, and a rear-view camera.

Pricing now starts at R369,995 for the 2.0 Ignite 6-speed manual and R376,995 for the auto derivative; R406,995 for the new 1.7 Ignite Plus; up to R517,995 for the added 2.0 CRDI EX Plus auto; and R599,995 for the flagship 1.6 T-GDI GT Line AWD 7-speed DCT, all with a 5-year/unlimited km warranty and 5-year/90,000 km service plan.
