DISTINCTIVE X2

BMW’S Q2 FIGHTER REVEALED

-

We have shown you the latest crossover offering from Munich in camouflage, but now the exciting and extroverted BMW X2 has been uncovered, ready for its international market premiere in March next year.

It is a very different Beemer this. A standalone model to the core, two design features stand out: for the first time on a modern BMW, the distinctive kidney grille are now broader at the bottom; while the additional BMW roundel on the C-pillars references a detail of classical BMW coupes (such as the 2000 CS and 3.0 CSL) to highlight its sporting DNA.

Designed to appeal to a young-at-heart, urban and active target group who likes to express their individuality, the new BMW is available in the standard model as well as the X2

M Sport and M Sport X, (which brings together design elements from BMW

M and the BMW X family) models.

It will be available in gold and blue metallic colours and three engine and transmission variants will be offered: the BMW X2 sdrive20i petrol model (141 kw), the X2 xdrive20d (140 kw) and X2 xdrive25d (170 kw).

Both diesels come with xdrive and eight-speed Steptronic transmission, while the petrol model is fitted with the seven-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission. Further variants will be added – in the shape of the three-cylinder X2 sdrive18i, the four-cylinder xdrive20i, the sdrive18d, and xdrive18d.

The new Q2 fighter from BMW can be expected to land in South Africa by the third quarter of next year.
