ENTRY-LEVEL E-PACE

JAG SUV INTRODUCES 147 KW VERSION

-

In October Jaguar South Africa will introduce an entry-level model of the E-pace with a cost-effective 147 kw two-litre four-cylinder turbocharged Ingenium engine, added to the existing line-up of 183 kw and 221 kw petrol engines, Smart Settings, and Adaptive Dynamics.

This model completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 8.2 seconds, and delivers fuel economy of 8.2 l/100 km and CO2 emission of 186 g/km. The new engine features the same advanced technologies found across the rest of the Ingenium engine family – including a twin scroll turbocharger, continuously variable valve lift and variable cam timing.

The E-pace now also features Smart Settings, the advanced self-learning technology of Jaguar. Debuted on the all-electric I-pace, scheduled for South African launch early in 2019, Smart Settings learns the habits of the driver and anticipates their needs to make their life easier. The E-pace will recognise the approaching driver based on both a key fob and smartphone Bluetooth signal. The vehicle will then adjust the seat, climate, and infotainment system based on the normal preference of the driver. Over time, algorithms tailor settings based on time, location, weather, and behavioural patterns. Up to eight profiles can be set up. It is offered as part of the Connect Pro Pack, which also consists of a 4G Wifi Hotspot, Pro Services, and Navigation Pro.

Adaptive Dynamics offers greater comfort and agility, altering damping rates every 10-milliseconds for enhanced handling response and body control. Rough surfaces and off-road conditions are sensed immediately, and the damping adapts accordingly. The 147 kw E-pace is available to order from Jaguar Land Rover dealerships now.
