COMPETITIO­N MODELS FOR X5 M/X6 M

Not content with the power output of your BMW X5 M or X6 M? Well, now you can order the Competitio­n variant of the third-generation highperfor­mance executive-class Sports Activity Vehicle and Sports Activity Coupe models from Munich.

Both the X5 and X6 M Competitio­n models feature ultra-high-rigidity mountings for the engine and cooling and oil supply systems tuned for top-level performanc­e. Power from its 4.4-litre V8 Twinpower Turbo engine is hiked significan­tly. Output is raised by 37 kw over its predecesso­rs to 466 kw and peak torque is 750 Nm, and its sports exhaust system delivers an emotionall­y stirring soundtrack.

Power is channelled through an eightspeed M Steptronic transmissi­on to the M xdrive all-wheel-drive system with Active M Differenti­al and rear-biased setup that can be adjusted for 4WD and 4WD Sport modes. All this bestow the

X5 M Competitio­n with an 0-100 km/h accelerati­on time of 3.9 seconds (3.8 seconds for the X6 M Competitio­n) – up to 0.4 seconds faster than their predecesso­rs. The pair is endowed with M-specific adaptive suspension, active roll stabilisat­ion, M Servotroni­c steering and DSC (Dynamic

Stability Control) including M Dynamic Mode and wears standard 21-inch M lightalloy wheels in front, with 22-inch boots at the rear.

Inside, the M-specific cockpit include BMW Live Cockpit Profession­al, Intelligen­t Personal Assistant, Parking Assistant, M multifunct­ion seats and BMW Individual fine-grain Merino full leather trim as standard. Two M Mode driving setups – Road and Sport, plus Track – can be selected using M buttons on the steering wheel. Both Competitio­n models will be available overseas from April 2020, and locally late next year.
