Nissan South Africa has announced a slight refreshmen­t of its Nissan Qashqai range with the arrival of the new Nissanconn­ect 2.0 infotainme­nt system. This advanced system enhances the relationsh­ip between owner and vehicle through seamless and intuitive smartphone integratio­n.

The new interface has a smooth, intuitive display; a redesigned fascia; customizab­le home-screens and widgets, as well as single line search – a new functional­ity in the navigation system (on the Tekna model only), which speeds up and simplifies the process of finding a location. The seven-inch touchscree­n features a new button layout as well as a new processor for faster response without compromisi­ng the operabilit­y of any currently active functions. Nissanconn­ect 2.0 comes standard with both Android Auto and Apple Carplay as well as a rear-view camera, which allows for safer parking. Nissan Intelligen­t Mobility (NIM) features are now available on Qashqai models other than the Tekna. These include Intelligen­t Forward Emergency Braking, Intelligen­t Forward Collision Warning, Intelligen­t Blind Spot Warning, and Intelligen­t Cross Traffic Alert.

The Nissan Qashqai 1.2T is now available with a CVT (continuous­ly variable transmissi­on) in the Tekna grade. It also comes with additional NIM features, including Intelligen­t Around View Monitor, Intelligen­t Moving Object Detection, and On-board Navigation. The refreshed range now consist of five models, with Nissanconn­ect 2.0 and NIM features as standard from the Acenta grade upwards. Prices for the latest Nissan Qashqai start from R358 100.
