SQ ADOPT V8-POWER

-

The Audi SQ7 and SQ8 have newly adopted a high-tech biturbo V8 TFSI petrol engine that equips them with more power and the potential for even more thrilling pace. The new high-tech V8 that replaces the original eight-cylinder TDI, also introduces sophisticated efficiency aids including cylinder on demand (COD) technology. Adaptive S-specific air suspension and all-wheel-steering are the talented supporting cast for the new engine.

With an output increased by 53 kw to 373 kw and 770 Nm peak torque, the 4.0 TFSI petrol engine punches the SQ7 and SQ8 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. Both surges from 80 to 120 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and need to be electronically restrained at 250 km/h.

The horizon-pummelling performance of the V8 is accompanied by a classic soundtrack, the tone and audibility that is modulated by two exhaust-mounted actuators. An eight-speed tiptronic transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel-drive are responsible for marshalling the increased power, and S-specific adaptive air suspension and all-wheel-steering are now standard.

The SQ7 comes standard with 21-inch alloy wheels and tyres, and S-badged 400 mm black front brake discs. The SQ8 boasts 22-inch wheels, and the impressive portfolio of dynamic assistance systems is complemented by a wide range of infotainment, connectivity, and driver assistance features. The latest petrol driven SQ7 and SQ8 models are still “under consideration” for South Africa.
