RETURN TO V8

-

Porsche has again returned to V8 power for its latest Cayenne GTS and GTS Coupé models. Replacing the 3.6-litre V6 biturbo engine of its predecessors, a four-litre V8 biturbo heart now beats under the bonnet once more. Delivering 338 kw and 620 Nm of torque, the new engine offers 14 kw and 20 Nm more than the V6, leading to significantly improved performance.

Linked to an eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission and with Sport Chrono package fitted, the GTS models now sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds (0.6 seconds quicker than before) and reaches a 270 km/h top speed, 8 km/h faster than its V6-powered predecessor). Adaptive cylinder control, direct fuel injection with central injector position, and an intelligently designed thermal management system ensures increased efficiency.

A performance-oriented chassis with active suspension management and “torque vectoring plus”, lowered by 20 mm (a 10 mm-lower three-chamber air setup is optional), 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels with red brake callipers, exclusive Sport Design elements, and enhanced equipment round off the new GTS package.

A new sports exhaust system (delivering a “highly emotive” aural experience) has been added, and in terms of brake compounds Porsche offers either a tungsten carbidecoated option or ceramic composites. Rear-axle steering and dynamic chassis control with active roll stabilisation system are optional.

Slotting in between the Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo, the GTS models are now available in South Africa and pricing starts from R1 749 000 (or R1 799 000 with the five-year Driveplan) with the GTS Coupé priced from R1 839 000 (or R1 889 000 with the extended Driveplan).
