Sausage roll with tomato chutney
TASTY, FILLING AND QUICK TO PREPARE - ESPECIALLY BEFORE A BOK GAME!
• 1 onion, finely chopped • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped • 15 ml ground coriander • 25 ml chopped origanum • 200 g bacon, finely chopped • 400 g pork mince • salt and freshly ground pepper • 500 g puff pastry • 1 x 400 g bottle tomato chutney
Heat oven to 180 °C. Mix the onion, garlic, coriander, origanum and bacon with the mince and season with salt and pepper. Shape the mince mixture into a sausage shape and place it in the centre of the pastry. Fold the pastry over the mince and place the sausage roll seam-side down on a baking tray sprayed with nonstick food spray. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Slice into portions and serve hot with tomato chutney or another sauce of your choice.
