The City of Joburg’s Community Developmen­t Department will be hosting its 9th Joburg Carnival themed “JoziLights Up GDS 2040” on December 31. City streets will come alive with a parade of colourful and unique large costumes, floats, gigantic puppets, stilt walkers, music, dance, drama and poetry.

The official procession will start at Kotze Street in Hillbrow on Monday, 11.30am for 12. The parade will proceed from Kotze and turn left into Klein Street, right into Wolmarans Street, right into Melle Street, left into De Korte Street, left into Bertha Street, over the Nelson Mandela Bridge, right into Carr Street, left into Miriam Makeba Street and right into Newtown Park.
